President's Message
January 2006

A Happy New Year to all.

With the Christmas and New Years Eve festivities over for another year may I express our hopes that your festive season was as happy and rewarding as was ours. Although we did not have the family home for the holidays, flu bugs in Chatham, we managed to add a few smiles to the faces of some otherwise lonely seniors.

The executive meeting in London was well attended and a considerable amount of discussion was centered around rallies for '06. Our secretary will outline what rally information is firm and what needs input from the regular members of the Chapter. Remember that the executive committee takes action on rally input suggested by members and will offer guidance to any member or members who wish to host a rally. We need your help!

One rally which I hope you will consider attending is one which was proposed in a motion by Don Crawfod and seconded by Dennis Dunning that the Ontario Overlanders co-host, with the Northern Lights Chapter, a rally to be held July 13-16 at Dayton, Ohio. For aeronautical buffs this should be a great one. Full details to follow in the next newsletter.

Since most of our rigs are in winter hibernation this is a good time to start planning which rallies you will attempt to attend and please give full attention to the registration forms supplied, particularly the "cut-off" date. This provides the host(s) with a firm idea of how many participants to provide for, and the necessary funds to work with.

With Stratford being our first rally of the year I hope to see a good representation of our membership and will meet each and every attendee with the familiar Overlanders greeting. We will have a general meeting at this rally so please bring your gripes and ideas for the betterment of the Chapter with you and make yourself known.

Until the next newsletter please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail with anything you feel is pertinent to the well being of the Chapter and I will get back to you as expediently as possible.

If you know of anyone who is ill or recovering from illness or surgery please let the secretary or myself know so that we may extend the best wishes of the Chapter for a speedy recovery. May God bless you all and until we meet later safe travels in the wintery weather.

Hugs to all

Peter
